Senior Manager AI Solutions
I build and lead teams at the intersection of AI research and production — with a taste for elegant solutions, good data, and the conviction that technology works best when it serves people.
As a manager and data scientist with more than six years of experience at one of Europe's leading hosting and cloud providers, I've built teams that take AI systems from prototype to production. What drives me is making complex ML topics tangible — for my team, for stakeholders, and for the organisation as a whole.
I'm rooted in the Freiburg region. When I'm not working on data models or AI architectures, you'll find me on Black Forest trails, in the saddle of my road bike, or tinkering with custom wooden furniture and youngtimer cars.
Remote and hybrid setups have been part of my daily routine for years — collaboration works regardless of location, as long as the culture is right.
From strategic AI deployment to operational delivery — with experience across every stage of the data and model lifecycle.
Building and leading interdisciplinary teams of data scientists and software engineers. Developing AI roadmaps and translating between technology and business.
End-to-end development and operation of ML systems: from data preparation and model training to productive deployment and continuous improvement.
Designing and operating LLM-based services and internal AI platforms. Integrating open-source and commercial language models into enterprise workflows.
Building data pipelines, big-data infrastructure, and reporting systems. Ad-hoc analyses and data-driven decision support for business units.
Introducing and running automation platforms and AI tools that speed up internal processes and support teams in their daily work.
Building psychological safety within agile teams. Fostering technical excellence through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and a constructive error culture.
More than six years of continuous growth — from data analysis to leadership responsibility for AI and MLOps.
Leading a cross-functional team of data scientists and software engineers. Responsible for the development, operation, and strategic direction of the company-wide AI platform. Rolling out generative AI services, ML infrastructure, and automation solutions at production scale.
Developing and operating machine-learning models for data-driven product decisions. Extending the ML pipeline infrastructure and sharing knowledge within the team.
Data analysis, model development, and ad-hoc reporting. First experiences with production ML systems and business intelligence solutions.
Participation in the renowned CERN Summer Student Programme — one of the most competitive early-career programmes in science. Web frontend development for scientific applications in an international research environment.
Hands-on experience alongside my master's studies: customer analytics, data mining, and reporting in e-commerce.
Broad technical foundation with depth in the Python ecosystem, ML infrastructure, and modern AI tooling.
The Black Forest on the doorstep is no accident — nature, technology, and movement are a fixed part of my daily life.
Multi-day tours in the Black Forest, the Alps, and surrounding low mountain ranges. From the Zervreilasee loop to multi-day hut hikes — nature and endurance as a balance to office life.
On the road bike over paved passes or on the MTB along Black Forest trails — two wheels, one passion. Regular rides around Freiburg and the Kaiserstuhl.
There's something honest about working on a car — at the end of the day it runs again or it doesn't. Maintenance, troubleshooting, and the occasional weekend in the garage are a welcome counterweight to screen time. An Audi TT Mk1, now comfortably past twenty, is one of the regulars on the workbench.
My workshop mainly produces built-in furniture and custom wooden pieces. Working with my hands — from design to the finished piece — is the perfect counterweight to screen time.
Personal projects around self-hosting, home automation, and new AI tools. Tinkering with technical solutions at home is the direct counterpart to work — and sometimes the best source of new ideas.
